A few common problems and thoughts on opening your pool

Summer is coming and it’s going to be pool time soon! Of course we are all excited for the hot weather and after this very cold start to 2015 there may be items in and around your pool that need attention. One thing that commonly breaks on in-grounds are the jet-return collars which have 4 screws holding them. If you see that these are cracked in the pool get them replaced. You can lose water from this area of the pool!; make sure the jet collars are intact and like-new. The cold and ice can also take its toll on o-rings, equipment, plumbing and even heaters located near the pump. If you open your own pool make sure to inspect this area thoroughly; if we open it we’ll do it for you and replace anything that needs it. Above-ground pools got it pretty bad to this year too; lots of structural damage out there. If you’re in the market for a new pool stop in and see us.
